Well, it's the first days that I'm back in the apartment with Andrew. It's going well, though I can't help but miss my host families. Oh well. Spent some time outside in the late evening with my camera, trying to capture the few stars that make it through the light pollution - it didn't work out.
Yesterday I met my lab group under Professor Asano - Asano Lab. Hopefully it'll work out with them, they seem like a really cool bunch of folks! Asanosensei treated us to dinner at a local yakiniku, or grilled meat, place. You grill the meat over these little grils built into the tables. It was a lot of fun, and delicious! One of the guys had a really nice motorcycles, so Ben and Mike posed with it.
Today, I went to go visit Professor Kyo's lab. He does robotics at HIT, and I was impressed by the work he was doing. He had an enormous lab group, and they were doing lots of work on flexible robot arms and manipulators. It was nice to be able to talk robotics with someone, and see where the research is.
